The Toll-King's Culvert
The road has to cross the stream somewhere — and the somewhere has a King.
A one-page dungeon for 3–5 characters, levels 1–2. Comedy shell, real treasure core, 30–45 minutes — our shortest arc, so it’s priced lighter.
THE ADVENTURE
Under the King's Road, a frog in a paper crown has taxed travelers for two hundred years — and never spent a coin. Tolls are exact and legal (1 coin per leg; 2 per horse; children free, "future revenue"), the heron clerk stamps your pass, and the otters downstream will slide you past for double, in fish. Bring a story: grandfathered rates are paid in testimony, told in the King's hearing.
