A free one-page dungeon for 3–5 characters, levels 1–3. Eight rooms in a sweep guildhall where everything the town burned is filed, priced, and readable — 30–60 minutes, system-neutral, the complete line sample.
The Honest Flue Company has swept every chimney in town for six generations, and the house rule never changed: the flue keeps what the fire takes. Burn a letter and it lives on — filed by street, drawer by hearth, thirty years of ash, readable for a price. The price is honest, and it is never coin alone: a reading costs one truth of your own, spoken onto the brass dish and kept. The house quotes fairly. The house always collects.
Eight rooms in one guildhall: a counter that answers before you knock; a hall where every flue in town breathes, and gossips both ways; the Soot Stacks; a bench where burned pages climb back into the smoke while the candle burns; and a room where clients pay two truths ahead to have things burned “unrecorded” — nothing here burns unrecorded. In the heart, the Cinder Widow: a fire old enough to have opinions, bound by charter to read truly and forbidden to advise, humming the cut verses of the town’s fire-songs. And below it all, the First Fire, banked two hundred years, never out. The charter says the town may ask it one question each generation. This is the year. Midnight is coming.
It’s the free one — the complete line sample, print-ready tonight. Same craft as the paid shelf: priced consequences, load-bearing arithmetic, a dungeon you can beat by reading the room. If it runs at your table — well, or memorably badly — write and tell us where it broke. Twelve more pages live at onepageforge.pages.dev, $0.99–$1.99, each one played before it was priced. The first reading is free. So is this page.
Anyone wondering what OnePageForge is — this page is the whole press in miniature. Tables that want a zero-cost, zero-prep night; GMs trying the line before paying; solo players pairing it with the Solo Oracle (012); and parties who read everything they find (here, it pays off).
